What is DCPC?
DCPC stands for David Chum Personal Cosmetics, a studio where artistry and precision meet.
How is DCPC different from other studios?
Every line I create carries twenty years of visual training—from luxury jewelry to fine art, from precision retail environments to portraiture. My work lives at the intersection of design, anatomy, and energy.
At DCPC, brows aren’t duplicated from templates or filtered ideals. They’re engineered through proportion mapping, pigment science, and intuition developed through years of studying form, color, and character. Clients come because they want brows that feel inevitable—like they were always meant to be there.
This isn’t a service. It’s my craft.
Where are you located?
Suite 203 at Salon Suites Belmont, 2 Brighton Street, Belmont MA 02478.

Do I need a consultation?
Not required, but recommended if you’ve had previous work or specific aesthetic goals. A short conversation and examination clarify your preferences and ensure your result feels seamless.
Who isn’t a candidate for cosmetic tattooing?
Cosmetic tattooing, while safe when performed under proper conditions, isn’t suitable for everyone. The following situations require medical clearance or deferral before booking:
Medical conditions & treatments
• Currently pregnant or nursing
• On Accutane (isotretinoin) or similar acne medications within the past 12 months
• Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation (must be fully cleared by oncologist)
• Diagnosed with hemophilia, uncontrolled diabetes, or any bleeding disorders
• Taking blood thinners such as Coumadin, Heparin, or daily high-dose aspirin (unless approved by a physician)
• Using Retin-A, glycolic acids, or chemical exfoliants near the brow area
• Experiencing active acne, eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment zone
• Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
• Recent Botox, filler, microneedling, or laser treatments in the brow area (wait 2–4 weeks minimum)
• Diagnosed with Hepatitis, HIV, or immune-compromised conditions without medical clearance
Lifestyle or recovery considerations
• Recent sunburn or tanning of the area to be tattooed
• Under the influence of alcohol, caffeine, or recreational drugs within 24 hours of appointment
• Any open cuts, wounds, or infections near the brow or forehead
• Have had previous cosmetic tattooing that has not fully faded (requires case-by-case evaluation)
Can I get tattooed while on antibiotics or steroids?
No. Wait two weeks after finishing the medication before booking or rescheduling your appointment.
How should I prepare?
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours before.
• Stop using retinol, acids, or exfoliants a week prior.
• Avoid tinting, waxing, or lamination for one week before your appointment.
• Arrive makeup-free with calm, hydrated skin.
-
Does it hurt?
Sensation varies but most describe it as light scratching. A topical anesthetic before and during the procedure minimizes discomfort so you can relax through the process.
How long does the appointment take?
Expect 2½–3 hours for initial work, including mapping and design. The follow-up Perfecting Session takes about 90 minutes.
What if I’m nervous?
That’s normal. Precision is built on stillness—clients often find the process unexpectedly meditative and fall asleep on the table.
Is it safe?
Yes. All procedures follow Massachusetts Body Art regulations. Every tool is single-use, pre-sterilized, and opened in front of you. I’m fully licensed and certified in bloodborne pathogen standards.
-
What style of brows do you specialize in?
Every set of brows is customized. My work leans toward natural enhancement—fine hair strokes, soft shading, and balanced symmetry. The goal is refinement without evidence: brows that feel authentic in every light and angle.
Do you do ombré, powder, or combination brows?
Yes. Techniques are adapted to your skin type and aesthetic goals. During your appointment we’ll discuss which approach best suits your anatomy and lifestyle.
-
What should I expect after?
Brows will appear darker for a few days, then soften as pigment settles. Slight redness or tightness is normal.
How long does healing take?
Surface healing completes in 7–10 days; full color stabilization in 4–6 weeks. You’ll receive a detailed aftercare card with everything you need.
Can I get them wet?
Keep them dry for the first week. Avoid steam, sweating, and swimming.
Who do I contact if I have questions after my appointment?
You can reply directly to your booking confirmation email or message through the contact page. All inquiries are personally reviewed by me to ensure accurate guidance.
-
How long will it last?
On average, 18–30 months, depending on skin type, pigment retention, and aftercare. Most clients prefer a touch-up within 6–12 months to keep their brows looking fresh.
Do they fade naturally?
Yes. DCPC uses high-grade pigments that fade evenly and gracefully.
Can you fix work done elsewhere?
Yes, case-by-case. Submit clear photos through the contact form for assessment.
When should I schedule my Perfecting Session?
Four to eight weeks after your initial appointment. It’s essential for refining shape and ensuring pigment retention.
Do I need annual touch-ups?
Most clients return within 12–18 months depending on lifestyle, sun exposure, and skin type.
-
How do I book an appointment?
All appointments are made through the online booking portal on my website. A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
Do you have a waitlist?
Yes. If the calendar is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist online and will be contacted if an opening becomes available.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 100% non-refundable deposit reserves your session.
Cancellation or reschedule policy?
72-hour notice required. No-shows or late cancellations forfeit the deposit.
Accepted payment methods?
All major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, AfterPay, and Affirm via Stripe.
Is gratuity accepted?
Always appreciated, never expected.

What does “Beauty is a Frequency” mean?
Everything that exists has one—color, sound, form, and thought all vibrate. DCPC aims to translate that resonance into visible alignment. Artistry becomes precision; precision becomes transformation; transformation becomes beauty. What you see, touch, and wear should move in rhythm with life itself—with the ideal version of you.
What guides your aesthetic?
Geometry, balance, and the quiet confidence of restraint. Precision is luxury.
