DCPC PORTFOLIO

DAVID CHUM

COSMETIC TATTOO ARTIST

David Chum is a Cambodian-American artist and designer specializing in eyebrow design through cosmetic tattooing, with a background in figurative art, portraiture, and fashion design. In 2009, he founded the label Selahdor—featured by DailyCandy, Boston Magazine, US Weekly, and Project Runway Season 9—where his work in pattern making, garment construction, and couture-level finishing shaped a signature built on proportion, precision, and restraint.

He now operates David Chum Personal Cosmetics as a Body Art Practitioner, applying design intelligence to the human face. Trained in traditional microblading, tebori-influenced hand methods, and modern machine techniques, his approach is grounded in anatomy and physiology, pigment science, and individualized assessment—because this work lives in skin, where healing, time, and biology shape the final result.

DCPC specializes in cosmetic brow restoration for alopecia areata and brow corrections, with a focused approach to fade, rebuild, and redefine aged work from other artists. He helps clients find confidence in their features with a discerning eye and a conservative approach so the work ages gracefully. Through individualized long-term maintenance, he ensures the work stays true to the face. New brow clients are welcome at the Belmont, MA studio, including first-time brows, corrections, and alopecia support. Licensed by the local Board of Health. By appointment only.

Pmu SERVICES

FOUNDATION

For clients with no previous brow tattoo.

Your starting point.

Every Foundation appointment begins with a complete skin and facial assessment, along with a thorough medical intake. We evaluate texture, undertone, oil production, muscle movement, and bone structure before any design decisions are made.

From there, we establish shape, pigment, and technique together — guided by your goals and calibrated to your anatomy.

Design is mapped with precision and approved before any pigment is placed. Every decision is intentional and built for long-term wear.

This is not trend-based.

It is based on structure.

Foundation sets the architecture for everything that follows.

Maintenance

Long-term support for existing DCPC clients.

Maintenance protects the integrity of your original design.

This category is reserved for clients with existing DCPC work and includes touch-ups, micro-adjustments, color refinement, and controlled pigment fading when the skin has reached its saturation point or when a softer reset is the most strategic next step.

Every visit begins with a healed assessment. We evaluate how the pigment has settled and aged; current skin conditions; environmental and lifestyle factors; and your long-term direction.

Adjustments are made conservatively to prevent overworking the skin or oversaturating the area. Sometimes the most responsible choice is restraint.

The goal is longevity without heaviness. Definition without buildup. Results that remain natural, dimensional, and fully under control.

Harmonization

For brows tattooed outside DCPC.

Work completed by another artist requires a controlled, strategic approach.

Every case begins with a complete skin and facial assessment and a thorough medical intake. Pigment type, depth, undertones, layering history, and prior technique are often unknown. That uncertainty must be respected before any redesign begins.

Harmonization is a structured plan — not a quick fix.

Most cases begin with measured pigment fading to create space for a cleaner rebuild. From there, we reassess the skin and determine whether refinement, structural redesign, or phased rebuilding is the most responsible next step.

The goal is balance, clarity, and restored proportion — without compounding what is already present.
