We gather our own unique set of histories as we move through our lives. One could say that my work is an expression of my experiences, however it is only a glimpse.

I am primarily a painter due to my attraction towards the constant nature and immediacy of the two-dimensional image. I am also attracted towards the sensual nature of the medium, as well as the solitary/ ritualistic character of the physical process. However, I will use any medium I deem necessary for the delivery of my "message." Painting can be quite persistent in its desire for the viewer's focus, and some ideas need to appeal to other senses besides the eyes.

I value technique and aesthetics, often coupled with "ugly" and negative content. In part, this is due to my interests in the tension created when two opposing elements are combined. The "prettiness" of an image, installation, sculpture, or photograph is often used as a means by which I "lure" the viewer, in an attempt at communication.

My work is a result of interests in female iconography, Jungian psychology, anthropology, mythology, ritual, religion, fashion, pop culture, feminism, gender, sexuality, identity, art history, art theory, art criticism, seduction/repulsion, and the general cycle of creation, destruction, and rebirth. In the end, it becomes a type of cultural artifact-a reflection on a specific group at a specific time, as seen by the individual.
